Juárez's manufacturing industry is on high alert for the impacts of the Electronic Value Manifestation (MVE) that has come into effect. Maquiladoras must comply with the disposition since April, but the SAT granted a postponement. "We will have to fill out the document a bit more complicated. We have been conducting training because an error can cause charges, quite expensive fines. We hope to see how we have done by the end of the day, we will make a small survey", said María Teresa Delgado Zárate, vice president of the Association of Maquiladoras (AMAC-Index) in Juárez. The National Association of Importers and Exporters (Anierm) warned that the procedure will represent a new operational challenge for more than 200 installed maquiladoras, as they will have to digitalize their documents. In this sense, Delgado urged to train. "We have the Foreign Trade Committee that is very up-to-date on this filling. We reiterate the order, any doubt that the people associated with Index-Juárez may communicate", said the representative. The phone available to partners is (656) 629-2001. Marcelo Vázquez, state delegate of the Anierm, stated that the maquilas without the OEA certification, which he estimated at over 60 percent, will have to cover all the specifications without committing errors, as the sanctions go from economic to prison. "This obligation implies uploading a multitude of electronic documents related to the value of the merchandise and the costs of bringing them. A risk is opened for importing companies, which goes from fines to prison for those responsible for customs management", he added. He expressed that there is a lack of knowledge about the risks that involve not knowing how to do this procedure. Therefore, he made an open invitation to directors, owners of SMEs and specialists not to operate blindly and send a message via WhatsApp to (656) 584-1848. "We want to insist that this measure affects all imports equally. Do not think that by being a small company or a maquiladora with years of experience you are exempt from this control of fiscalization", concluded the head of the association in Chihuahua.
